IIFA Awards - May 27

Due to overwhelming popularity, the 23rd International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend and awards are set to make a return to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, following the tremendous success of the 2022 edition. This star-studded event honors the best in the Indian Film Industry, with breathtaking performances by renowned Bollywood stars. The IIFA Weekend and Awards will once again take place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.

Guns N Roses Concert - June 1

The iconic American rock group, Guns N’ Roses, is set to take the stage at Etihad Arena, located in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi. This is their first performance in the UAE since 2018, making it a special occasion for music fans in the Emirate. Kicking off their five-month world tour in Abu Dhabi, the band will then head to other global destinations. The concert promises to be an epic spectacle, complete with the band’s classic hits, electrifying performances, and an unforgettable experience for rock music enthusiasts. 

Eid Al Adha Celebrations - June 28

Eid Al Adha, also known as the “celebration of the sacrifice”, is among the most important religious events in Islam. This year, it is expected to begin on June 28. The festival commemorates the Quranic story of the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as a test of his faith. This time of year is particularly special in the UAE due to the six-day break that workers receive, resulting in joyous and extended celebrations. Even for non-Muslims, this period provides a unique opportunity to witness and partake in the cultural richness of the UAE. From the special dishes prepared during Eid to the grandeur of the Eid prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the celebrations offer insights into local customs and traditions. 

Fontana Circus - April to July 2023

Get ready for a mesmerizing spectacle of water and light as the Fontana water circus makes its anticipated debut in Abu Dhabi! After its successful run at Dubai’s Festival City in 2022, the traveling circus is set to stun audiences at Marina Mall from 18 April to 2 July 2023, except for Mondays and Tuesdays. 

This live entertainment extravaganza is presented by the Lebanese troupe, Cirque Du Liban. Expect to be dazzled by their stunning aerialists, thrilling tricks, enchanting dancers, and the captivating centerpiece – the Dancing Musical Fountain. The performance timings will vary. For the first few days at the end of Ramadan, there will be a single show at 9:00 PM. Over Eid, audiences will be treated to three daily shows at 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 9:30 PM. Thereafter, Wednesdays will feature a 9:00 PM show, and Thursdays to Sundays will host two shows at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. 

Fontana Abu Dhabi promises an aquatic extravaganza with gravity-defying acts, mind-blowing illusions, comedy, dancers, water jets with special effects, and more inside a state-of-the-art aquatic theatre. The final performance will occur on 2 July 2023, marking the end of this leg of the UAE tour.

Venues often offer special promotions on drinks and dining, along with live music or DJ sets. Some of the popular venues include Ray’s Bar, Filini Garden, and the Annex Abu Dhabi.

ADIHEX ADNEC - August 2023

The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) is the largest exhibition for hunting, equestrian, and heritage preservation in the Middle East and Africa region. The 20th edition of ADIHEX will be held from 23 – 29 August 2023 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) under the theme “Sustainability and Heritage… A Reborn Aspiration”. 

Organized by the Emirates Falconers’ Club, this event is a tribute to authentic sports, cultural heritage, environmental preservation, and sustainable hunting practices. The exhibition brings together decision-makers and industry experts from around the world, providing opportunities for networking, partnerships, and business growth. 

ADIHEX 2023 is expected to attract over 150,000 attendees and will feature more than 960 exhibitors & brands showcasing the latest technologies, innovations, and trends across 11 industry sectors. From equestrian and falconry equipment to hunting and camping gear, the exhibition promises to offer something for every outdoor enthusiast. 

Disney on Ice - October 2023

Disney on Ice is set to enchant audiences in Abu Dhabi at the Etihad Arena, Yas Island from 12-16 October 2023. This world-renowned ice spectacle originated from the collaboration of Feld Entertainment and The Walt Disney Company. The show features talented figure skaters who bring to life beloved Disney characters, performing magical routines inspired by various Disney films. Since its inaugural production under the name Walt Disney’s World on Ice in 1981, the show has been thrilling audiences globally, eventually rebranding as “Disney on Ice” in 1998. 

Halloween - October 2023

Abu Dhabi is known for embracing the spooky spirit of Halloween with a variety of events and activities. Families often visit Yas Waterworld for its Halloween-themed water adventures, while thrill-seekers can experience the annual scare fest at Ferrari World. Numerous restaurants and clubs around the city also host Halloween-themed nights, offering special menus, costume contests, and themed parties. However, specific details about Halloween 2023 events are yet to be announced.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - November 2023

One of the most exciting events in the Formula 1 calendar, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, is slated to take place on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Yas Marina Circuit. The race spans 58 laps around the 5.281-kilometre circuit located on Yas Island, a spectacle that starts in daylight and concludes under the night sky. The circuit, constructed on the artificial island of Yas at the cost of 1 billion U.S. dollars, offers a unique racing experience in a luxurious environment. It’s also home to the Ferrari World amusement park, adding to the event’s allure.

National Day - November 2023

National Day in Abu Dhabi is a significant annual celebration marking the UAE’s formation. The city turns into a vibrant display of patriotism with parades, fireworks, concerts, and traditional activities that reflect Emirati heritage. Historic landmarks are illuminated in the country’s colors, and the air is filled with a sense of unity and pride. Specific details about the 2023 celebrations will be released closer to the date.

Mother of the Nation Festival - December 2023

The Mother of the Nation Festival is a significant event that celebrates the contributions of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, fondly known as the Mother of the Nation. Held at Abu Dhabi Corniche, last year’s festival was extended by a week due to popular demand. With an array of attractions, art installations, food, and beverage stalls, and amusement rides, the festival caters to visitors of all ages. The festival is expected to follow a similar format in 2023, featuring food festivals, immersive digital art installations, and various zones that cater to different interests.  

Christmas and winter in Abu Dhabi - December 2023

The festive season in Abu Dhabi is a magical experience. The city embraces the spirit of Christmas, with shopping malls, hotels, and public spaces adorned with decorations, Christmas trees, and lights. Winter Wonderland at Yas Island is a popular attraction, featuring ice skating, snowball fights, and a Santa’s grotto. Additionally, the cooler winter temperatures make it an ideal time for outdoor activities, like visiting the city’s parks, beaches, and desert reserves.
